FORT GEORGE VIS WEDDING

Fort George Vis Wedding Photographer

Experience this elegant and romantic wedding in a breathtaking medieval Fort George on the island of Vis

I am based in Dalmatia and gladly travel to photograph beautiful destination weddings in Croatia and beyond, sometimes a place calls to me in a way I just can’t ignore—and Vis Island is one of those places.

Tucked away in the Adriatic, this little slice of paradise is all rugged coastlines, hidden coves, and the kind of sunsets that make you stop mid-conversation just to take it all in.

Everybody who knows me, heard me talking about Vis with admiration and passion I feel for this island. Vis keeps a special place in my heart and to photograph a wedding on Vis was literally my dream!

So when this incredible Swedish couple Lisa & Anton,  asked me to photograph their wedding at Fort George, I didn’t even have to think twice.

A historic fortress perched above the sea, with ancient stone walls, lush greenery, and a view that stretches endlessly over the water? Say no more!

At Lisa's and Anton's wedding there was nothing short of magical. Think candlelit dinner under the stars, the sound of waves in the distance, and a dance floor that didn’t stop until the early hours.

Every little detail was effortlessly beautiful, made even more special by the warmth and joy of everyone there.

I can’t wait to share more from this unforgettable weekend—keep scrolling to see how it all came together!

Getting ready in a modern minimalistic villa

Lisa's serene bridal morning

Waking up in a beautiful villa overlooking Vis bay, surrounded by laughter and the people who mean the most—it was the perfect way for Lisa to start her wedding day.

The morning was slow and sweet, with her bridesmaids in their dreamy sky-blue gowns, sipping champagne by the pool and soaking in every moment. There was this giddy excitement in the air, the kind that makes your heart race in the best way.

Between final touches of makeup and adjusting Lisa’s dress, they shared stories, happy tears, and so much laughter. It wasn’t just about getting ready; it was about celebrating Lisa, her love story, and the incredible day ahead.

Lisa's bridal dress was effortlessly elegant, featuring a sleek, off-the-shoulder design that exudes sophistication and modern romance. The fitted silhouette gracefully hugs the bride’s figure before flowing into a soft, sweeping train, adding a touch of timeless glamour.

Bridesmaids have chosen elegant dresses with a classical touch in baby blue, perfectly complementing the color of Adriatic sea.

Wedding ceremony in Gospa od Spilica Church

Getting married at Gospa od Spilice on Vis Island is nothing short of magical.

As a photographer who has spent years capturing weddings in Croatia and beyond, I can confidently say—this church offers one of the most intimate and breathtaking backdrops for a wedding in Croatia.

Located in the charming Kut area of Vis, Gospa od Spilice is a 16th-century stone church that carries centuries of history within its walls.

The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by the warm glow of ornate chandeliers, the soft echoes of footsteps on ancient stone floors, and an undeniable sense of tranquility. The way the natural light filters through the doors, illuminating the aisle just as a bride walks toward the altar—it’s a scene straight out of a dream.

Vis is still one of Croatia’s best-kept secrets, and that’s what makes it so special.

Unlike more crowded locations like Dubrovnik or Hvar, a wedding here feels intimate, personal, and deeply connected to the island’s charm. The slow pace of life on Vis allows couples to truly savor every second, celebrating in a way that feels relaxed yet unforgettable.

One of the things I love most about weddings at Gospa od Spilice is the stunning surroundings. Just outside the church, the Adriatic shimmers under the Mediterranean sun, with palm trees swaying in the breeze and stone walls that have stood the test of time. After the ceremony, stepping outside as newlyweds, with the sea stretching out behind you, makes for an incredible moment—not just emotionally, but visually.

Romantic & elegant newlyweds

I have created these black and white images when Lisa and Anton were walking from the church to the boat.

With the couple walking away into the soft light, framed by stone walls that add depth and texture, I've promptly made intimate and cinematic documentary shots.

I wanted to freeze these special moments that flee too fast, the bride and groom walking hand in hand, smiling as they take their first steps as newlywedsthe graceful flow of the bride’s dress, the delicate bouquet, and the couple’s confident stride, the bride’s subtle glance over her shoulder feels like a moment frozen in time—filled with love, anticipation, and the beauty of a new beginning.

Newlyweds sipping champagne on a stylish boat

There’s something undeniably romantic about newlyweds escaping the crowd for a quiet moment together after their ceremony.

These two did it in style—sailing off into the sunset, champagne in hand, just soaking up the moment together.

Just the two of them and Vis

After all the excitement of the day, having that intimate time to laugh, relax, and just be with each other is so special. That’s what makes wedding photography so magical—capturing those little in-between moments, the stolen glances, the happy sighs, and the pure joy of two people totally in love.

Charming dinner setup in surrounded by the walls of Fort George

Imagine a dreamy wedding dinner set within the historic walls of Fort George in Vis—a perfect blend of timeless elegance and old-world charm.

The medieval stone walls of the fortress create a dramatic yet intimate atmosphere, their textured surfaces bathed in the warm glow of hanging lights strung overhead. Soft, romantic white roses adorn the tables, adding a touch of classic beauty against the rustic setting.
